Traction Control Delete?
Just wondering if anyone has seen the videos on youtube of guys taking out fuses or putting in switches to get the traction control completely off. Looks like a big difference off the line and when you shift it doesnt bog but I belive they cant shift over 5k. Don't know if its that big of a deal or will screw the car up? Again just wondering....
Thanx

I'm the one who made those video's.
The one video CLEARLY shows me exceeding the 5k limiter with the fuses out.
You can destroy the tires much easier with the system totally disabled, (no fuses), though some people have found that they have no brake lights after pulling the fuses out.

On my 04, (6-spd) I simply disconnected the center wire from the traction control. Like Apkano pointed out, mine goes right up to red line with no problem, and everything works as normal except of course, TC and anti-locks.
Makes my car lots more fun to drive, without having to deal with the "black box" putting my car into "limp mode" every single time the rear tire loses traction for a fraction of a second. (no matter if the "factory" tc switch was on or not).
Later models tend to have more problems when you tamper with the TC, from what I understand.

Every thing is hidden in the bottom of the fuse box, if you open the hood you will see nothing. I still can't do doughnuts, the YAW sensor kicks in about half way around. But you can really get her sideways.

Good to have you back though.

I have an 04 and was looking to take my fuses out but on the drivers side, fuse box there is no fuses for 17 and 18, the cover list them as spares? What do i do, one say speed control but i assumes that was cruise control. Any suggestions would be great.
I found this the other day, I have no idea if it works with our car though..

It’s easy to think of relays as being suitable for just simple car modifications, but that’s not always the case.
This circuit shows the use of two relays that deactivate traction control without affecting ABS or stability control. The system works by connecting the un-driven wheel ABS sensor outputs to the driven wheel ECU inputs, so that the ECU cannot see a speed difference between the undriven and driven wheels. The modification is automatically switched off whenever the brakes are applied, or by a manual on/off switch. This diagram shows only half of the system - the complete the system just mirror-images the wiring for the other side of the car.
The total cost of the modification was well under AUD$30 – relays are cheap! For more on this approach, see Modifying Electronic Car Handling Systems, Part 3

perform my step by step in this thread and turn your TC off when you start your car and your free from the nanny and you still have break lights and ABS.

TC and ESP disable is currently in the works. Makes the switch work the way it should... Press it up to turn it off and press it down to turn it back on. Hold the up side for 10 seconds and it sounds a tone and turns off ESP as well. Also remembers if you had the traction control on or off when you shut the car off and when you start it back up it turns the traction control off if it was off when you turned it off.
