Default autostick question.

Just got a srt and have a big newb question...sorry. Can someone let me know what the "w" and "s" mode are for? I know I can just pull it down and drive it in "d" but if I start shifting with the stick can I get it back into drive without stopping and going back into park? Very sorry for this basic question but I don't have time to search and I know someone will be nice and answer and some others will tell me to search.
Thanks Mike,

Thanks Mike,
Yes you can shift from - "Manual" back to D without going to park.

The W/S is a "winter/summer(sport) switch - the W mode will start the car in 2nd gear to allow easier moving on snow/ice.

Have fun.

*edit - for safety you should be stopped when switching S/W

say you are going 40 mph in "D" slap the shifter to the left and nail it the tranny will go to the lowest gear needed ( say 2 gear)to take off fast as it can,, then say you let it shift to 3(at 6100 rpm) then you want to go into drive again,, just tap (or slap) the shifter to the right 3 or 4 times and ,,,you are in drive just cruising along,, hope this is what you wanted to know.

That's correct, rayner, just slap it over to the right, once for every gear you need to go up until you are back in 'D'. Unless you live up north, you'll never need to touch the W/S switch. Have fun.

In addition if you pull the shifter all the way to the left say at a stop light and take off it will hold 1st gear all the way to RED LINE before shifting to the next gear. It will red line each gear until it gets back into Drive !!!
Careful tho this type of driving can be addicting and expensive on the pocket book !

You don't have to slap it once for every gear to get back to drive... Just pull it to the right and hold it for a couple of seconds and it will switch back to "AUTO" mode.
