In the front, right of my engine there is a reservoir of some sort that has a black cap with the following words printed on it "Filled with Pentosin CHF11S". The reservoir is empty. Can someone tell me what its for and what should be in it?

It's the power steering reservoir. Are you sure it's empty? It looks low when you look in there but it should have fluid level markers on the cap dipstick for hot and cold levels. If it is empty you might have a leak in the system and should have it checked ASAP before you damage the pump.

Or if you have a Porsche, VW or Audi dealer closer by, they should have not only the CHF11S, but they should also have CHF202, which is 100% compatible with the CHF11S.

I have a bottle of it for my Porsche Boxster, and the bottle says just that right on the side.

It also warns against mixing it with CHF7.1, so don't do that.

Chrysler (Mopar) has this oil too. I bought a pint.

 

If you're out of PS fluid you'll hear the the PS pump whenever you turn the steering wheel. Kind of a whining sound
