Lightbulb Recall on RCM

After having to have my RCM replaced and reading all the posts regarding the same issue, has anyone ever tried to contact Chrysler regarding a recall or reinbursement for replacing the part? I have 32 pages I am planning on mailing to Chrysler along with my reciept for the part....wish me luck! If nothing else I'm standing my ground on what I think is right.

Might send a copy to the NTSB...telling how dangerous a condition this is if it fails while going down the road...they force the recalls for what I understand...

Well good luck! I'm afraid that as long as Chrysler is in debt to the feds, it will fall on deaf ears at Obama Motors.

Thumbs up Re: Recall on RCM

I spoke with Chrysler Daimler in MI today, the customer service person whom I spoke with said that she will recommend that I be reinbursed for replacing my RCM. I am sending her all the posts regarding this problem to Chrysler and I am requesting that it become a recall. I will keep everyone informed. Thanks again for diagnosing my problem! My car has been running great!

Unhappy Re: Recall on RCM

I hate like hell to say I just paid a local shop $485 for this part. Total bill was almost $900 to fix a blasted P0410 check light. All the solder connections on the back of the original part look good which really surprises me.

I"ve been repairing electronics for 30 years and 8 months... many bad solder jobs LOOK fine, the lead can break loose UNDER the solder. Simply heating up all connections can fix a lot of problems.

A visual inspection does NOT always show all defects.

I hate to say it but you have been on this forum since 2009 and you have not noticed that this part can be cured in most cases with 10 cents worth of solder.
You can even send it away and have it fixed for $10.

The joints may look good but they are deceiving.

In future ask before you get rash with your money, it is well worth it as many can attest.
