Dyno-Tuning Tomorrow!
Hey guys - I just wanted to let everyone know that tomorrow morning I will be strapping my cross to the dyno and getting the ECU tuned! I have been looking forward to doing this for a while and a local shop happened to be hosting a yearly dyno event this Saturday. I know several people on here have been reluctant to believe what these cars are capable of without the dyno sheets to prove it, so I am hoping to get a hold of some screen captures for some positive feedback. I have already been informed that the dyno run summaries will not be printed as they are going to be running quite a few cars, but I bet I can convince them to let me do a screen capture and that will work just as well for our purposes.
Now then, here is a quick breakdown of what all is going on under my hood, and I would like to also point out that none of this would have been possible without this community, and the wealth of knowledge that I have found within!
Grill Mod
Removed air inlets
3" TVT Pipes and silicone sleeves
MB V8 Airbox (OEM Filters)
MB V8 MAF Housing (stock sensor)
MB V8 Throttle Body
19 lb Injectors
I am working with TVT and Eurocharged on the tune and I am hoping to see low 230s hp to the wheels, but wouldn't be too surprised if it goes a bit higher than that. I will be sure to update this thread between runs if possible, but most definitely with the end results!

I dynoed mine a few weeks ago just to get base numbers to see how much it goes up. It peaked at 180hp so 230 at the wheels would be a huge gain let us know how it turns out?
Sorry about the delayed update guys - the dyno trailer's bearings had gone bad and they were unable to transport it to the event. The day wasn't an entire wash, as I got to check out some really cool mustangs ranging from the old shelby roadsters all the way up to the new GT500s. I have always appreciated the exhaust note of a good V8, and there were quite a few nice ones to listen to that day.
It was also sort of good that the dyno was a no-show because when they reschedule I get my time for free, and Anthony(TVT) and I are having trouble getting the software he supplied to read my ECU properly, so hopefully this will provide the time needed to get that sorted out. At this point I would like to go ahead and apply the first tune from the tvt265 package as it isn't as important to know what I have at the wheels right now, but what the end result will be after the dyno.

Fair enough - your point is definitely valid. I tried messing with the software again tonight and came up wondering if I need updated software - it seems to like the bosch driver I am selecting is the right one, but none of the 3.2 classes within seem to work after that. If anyone who has used this method to tune their ECU remembers what needed to be done, I'd appreciate it. I am wondering if mine being an '06 might require some type of updated version of the software. It looks like it was written by an enthusiast versus a company, so support for it seems questionable at best.
Your best bet is to talk to Anthony, as he's the one whom I believed is supplying you with the software. I'm sure he's run into this situation before with a cars computer that didn't want to communicate properly.
At the very worst, you might have to pull the computer, and send it to his shop.
Takes about 15 minutes to pop it out of the car.

Yeah, I have thought about that as an option, but I am hoping that it won't have to come to shipping it. I have looked over the online manual and definitely looks like an easy item to remove. I have done all the mods myself which has been very rewarding. I guess I am beginning to feel a little impatient since I haven't accomplished anything ecu tuning wise and don't like being stuck at a standstill. It has been a bit disappointing not having yet accomplished what I had set out to do. That and suddenly my girlfriend thinking the money I am putting in to my cross should instead be sitting on her finger

Glad I'm not in your shoes.

Well it looks like you wont be needing the Xfire any more, I will give you $500 for it as a down payment on a station wagon. LOL just kidding, I've been there, and you wont be able to shake her. Good luck
I am not too worried about her, she gets a little irrational sometimes. Most of the time, though, she is pretty level headed, and knows I have my hobbies. Of course, this could all be some sort of trap...
It looks like we may be making some headway software-wise. I spoke with Anthony yesterday and he explained that the newer models of our car can't read the ecu without shorting a pin first. He went on to say that wasn't even necessary and gave me some instructions to get my Hardware/Software IDs and we are currently trying to get that taken care of. I got home extremely late last night so I am probably not going to have the fruit of this effort until after work or possibly tomorrow.

So we have discovered that it was my copy of the software that was holding back the process and I am now awaiting the file from Eurocharged with my Hardware/Software info written to it. I am not sure what kind of turn around time to expect, but hopefully it will be sooner than later. I still haven't been informed as to when the dyno time has been rescheduled to.
