Hi everyone,
I am going to check out a XF limited on saturday.
I need some expertise from you guys, I have never driven, sat or touch an XF. I need some help giving me hints on what too look out for. This is what I have got so far:

- seat heating mechanism faults
- valve coat leaks (or something similiar...pardon my bad english ;D) How can I check this?

-
Help me out PLS! I wanna join the gang!

the interior door grab handles peel on the inner side. i was lucky to get these replaced under warranty. I also had a problem with the a/c blower it sounded like it was off balance and rubbing somthing when the a/c was turned on high this was covered by warranty as well. other then that no major problems.

The RCM relay control modules go bad symptoms are mysterious no start and stalling on the highway. Even though I love my car, I wouldnt buy another one, lots of mechanical issues with this car. Read the posts.

Valve cover leaks have been reported. I am assuming that you will see oil on the sides of the engine in the area of the spark plugs.

The relay control module has been a problem for some, but it's usually a repairable item - a little touch-up soldering is all that's needed.

My 2005 has over 18,000 miles on it and my only complaint so far is that the convertible top release latch button is stuck in. No big deal!

I'd look for the usual: oil leaks, condition of tires, listen to noisy valves or other engine parts (that would indicate a possible serious problem like low oil pressure or engine damage), maybe look for rust around the bottom of the doors (there is a thread here that talks about how to pull the seal off so you can see).

Be encouraged:
SEVERAL forum members have over 100,000 miles on their cars and they appear to think nothing of jumping in the car and heading out across the USA on trips!

My car has 69,000 miles and only had to replace a battery at 67,000 miles. Best car I ever had!

Rumor has it that you think the engine is too little!
