I don't know, but it might be time to change your tranny fluid. How many miles do you have on it? And how hard is it to get into gear? Just stiff or you're really tugging on the shifter?

it only has 22k miles on it... might have been hard miles though... had to change the rear brakes and re-work the rotors as they were pretty beat up.

it takes a couple of jabs at it.... i would say real stiff.

Well, that is odd that it is only into reverse. If it was all of them getting stiff, I'd say it was low trans fluid or time to change it. But that doesn't go with just reverse being the trouble. So it will take someone who really knows what they're talking about to chime in.

My one last idea:
When you try to put it into reverse, does it help at all to put it into another gear first, then into reverse?

If I were you, I would go 2nd --> 1st --> Reverse and it should slide right in. The synchros need to warm up.

But as Tom said, if someone who really knows cares to chime in

Mine was that way in the colder months... Now, not so much.

The 2-1-R method works flawlessly for me.
