aftermarket exhaust system
Yes,It's pretty much the size of the pulley that makes the difference not the weight. The under drive pulleys turn the alternator, pwr.str. pump,a/c and waterpump at half speed saving wasted HP.
Just bought the Borla Exhaust System on E-bay. Hope it fits.
I've got a Borla Dual system on my Pt Crusier and it helped performance some and sounds great.
I'' post my opinion on it after I install it. Probably be a couple of weeks.

1) install a smaller diameter crankcase pulley
2) install larger diameter accessory pulleys
the advantage to #2 is that you can select which accessory you want to reduce power to. also, you reduce the risk of crankshaft vibration if the stock pulley has an integrated harmonic balancer.
One thing you have to be careful of if you go to underdrive pulleys is your power steering pump. Especially with recirculating ball type steering. If you underdrive it too much it can cause problems when you try to input very quick steering.... Such as running a slalom course, where your need to make rapid turns, left and right and left, etc. You could find yourself running out of hydraulic assist.
How did we go from aftermarket exhaust systems to underdriving pulleys? As for any horsepower increase, who cares. She just wants the sound. We are past the stage of life whereby we have to go "Mach 2 with our hair on fire".

At what age does that hit???
I started racing 1/4 midgets in Lawndale Calif. when I was 6 years old (1957) and now I'm autocrossing my Crossfire. I don't think that if you have been bitten.... No matter what age you were when bitten... You ever get it out of your system. You just mature and (Hopefully) have more control of how you use the power. At least I haven't past that satge and I hope I never do!
