Default Coolant question

My X-Fire has blue coolant in it. What's the diff? I called the local autoparts store and left them scratching their head. Does it go by a certain name, and where can I get it?

Here is another post on the subject, it is suppose to be blue but the replacement stuff from MB could be yellow or blue. Hope this helps!

"The MB part number Q 1 03 0002. 1 Gallon container. Owner's manual calls for this,or Zerex G-05" is quoted in the post. I have become a big fan of sticking with original equipment stuff and buying my parts from NAPA when I can. After changing things half a dozen times on my own vehicles (not the XF) and my friends vehicles because I went to other auto parts stores, I learned my lesson.

IMOA, I would stick with the MB stuff but it is your call, hope my rant helps in some way

Thanks. I normally stay with OEM as well.

This works quite well, use it and all will be revealed.

I agree onehundred80, I have used the search function with success ever since I found this site. It has been invaluable for me before and after my XF purchase. I cannot thank everyone enough for this site!

That being said, yodaforce, try the search function first and then if you still can't find something it never hurts to post, somebody will have an answer. This site is rich in knowledge and willingness to obtain answers!

Well I typed in "coolant" under the search. I spent about 20 minutes digging. I don't always have too much time to sit and dig, so I figured I'd just ask. It was quicker.
I will always "search" first, but alot of times it brings up alot to sort through. Thanks for the help. I do appreciate it.

dont worry about the color. it has no meaning. the blue coolant is an older version of the m/b spec coolant.
instead reference the m/b specs for coolant and buy that . m/b coolant comes indiluted and can be moxed with distilled water. about 13$ per gal. zerex g-50 also works.
