Where should I put my Air Fuel sensor?
I was thinking just behind the primary cats, but on many websites it says not to put it after cats? maybe just next to the OEM sensor on the header?
where do most of you have your sensors?

Install Pre Cat
You want to measure and adjust A/F before the cat alters the exhaust composition.
On a Turbo charged car, you also want to install after the turbo AND before the cats.

From what I know the OEM is a narrowband, however I agree that it should be before the cat only issue is they say if you put it to close to the engine the sensor could burn out because it's to hot, what I dont understand is the stock sensor never burns out, the system I bought is an AEM and it comes with a Bosch sensor from what I know the stock sensor is a Bosch also ...hrmmmm
I have had a Zeitronix Wide band for many years on my Porsche 944 Turbo with no issues.
On that car, you place the sensor down stream from the turbo due to the heat and pressures of the exhaust on the engine side of the Turbo.
I drilled and welded the sensor bung right in front of the cat.

Definately don't put it after the cat lol, the second set of 02's are only to ensure the primary cats are working.. they aren't really tied to the fuel system.
I attached the section in the AEM instructions about mounting position.

john theres a place between the exhaust header and the primary cat just past the flange . you will need to drop your exhaust and plug the exhaust so the filings dont drop into the cat. drill a hole and weld the bung then insert the O2 sensor
you could also unbolt the flange and slide a piece of sheetmetal in between. drill the exhaust header just before the primary O2 sensor and drill and weld the bung. then pry down on the exhaust to allow the filings to slide off the sheetmetal. thats how i did mine

That's what I was thinking steve do you have any problems with to much heat on your sensor? Or do you remove it when your not watching your AFR and replace it with a bolt?

I unplugged one of the OEM sensors and I got a CEL straight away however the car runs perfectly, I was thinking in the meantime I can unscrew the OEM sensor and put in my AEM sensor!!!!
For the life of me I cannot unscrew the OEM sensor its so damn tight has anyone taken it off? it must have red thread locker or something

Damnit, I just had an O2 sensor installe and he put it after the precats, next to the stock sensor. How much of a problem will this cause me and is there a good place to route the wires through the firewall?
I did mine per ROB just after the stocker ON THE SIDE to keep soot and water from getting into the sensor. AFter the cats is wrong to me, just saying.
