Battery Dead. Should I expect any issues after replacing it?
Well, we have a beautiful day here, finally. I didn't start my car since January, and the battery is completely dead. It wont even take a charge. That's OK, I've had the car 5 years, so it's time to replace it. But, should I expect issues when I install the new battery because the old one one has been dead?

EPAs, abs, bas light may be illuminated. Just drive a bit and it will disappear.

FP, same thing happened to me today. One started, the other is dead. I had a battery tender on them, but the neg pole slipped off when I closed the hood. So, a new battery for me too.
Back to looking on the forum today. Missing being at the Dragon and seeing good friend. Will need to get back in the saddle again.

Drive it some on the good days in the winter. I drive mine all winter on the good days. No problems with the battery, it is stamped 12\03. Knock on wood with the age of it though.
Once the battery is installed and you start the engine, turn the wheel to right then left, almost stop to stop, and any lights on the dash should go out. Some of the replacement batteries are not quite as tall as the OEM, you may need a spacer to take up the slack on the mounting stud.

I've had brand new bateries go dead due to Batery Tenders not being pluged in and the batery tender will not bring it back from a dead charge.
Try to boost the battery and let the cars charging system charge the batery, then for the next time buy yourself a battery tender , it will be the best $50 you ever spend. I took my batery out of the car over the winter and put it back in, car fired right up.
I also thought I would have some electronic issues (lights etc) had non, let her warm up and drove like a champ!
Of course like I stated in my last post! I had to drive (Wifes XFire) only for safety reasons (my story and I'm sticking to it)
OK, my friend, since it is you....the answer to your question is....NO...no issues....but I had to pick on you just a little...the VW looks fantastic just like the XF....see you soon....
Well, just put a new battery in because we couldn't even jump it. I found one easily at Autozone in the right dimensions. Installed and took right off. No lights or alarms.
However, I have a feeling I lost my tune from Eurocharge. So what do I do now. Do I have to send the ECU up to Eurocharge?

I replaced the original stock battery today with the small Odyssey one. Had to rig it up in the large space where the stock battery was so it would stay in place.
Funny thing is, my spoiler which was previously operating kind of slowly all of a sudden started moving much faster. I guess the old battery was dying. Plus, gotta love the weight savings.
