Have any of you had these sympoms as a result of a dead battery?
I wondered about that. Shipping=abuse sometimes.

Well my replacement battery from Rob came in today, and it fired right up. I still have the issue with the coolant light on, and my radio wont power up. I checked the fuses for the radio and they are fine. I never new we had 2 radio fuses. Anyone have this issue with their radio not coming on after a battery was dead? I will be having all the fluids replaced soon, so I'm sure the coolant light will be resolved, but I'm concerned about my radio.

FP,

The only thing that comes to mind is to either pull the radio out and unplug it's harness for a few minutes or disconnect the battery for a few minutes. When you re-connect battery or radio, TRY to make it a quick, "clean" reconnection, not a shaky "connect-disconnect-connect" affair that can confuse the microprocessor in the radio.

Maybe when you changed the battery, you made-and-broke the connection a few times and confused the micro-P.

Were either of the radio fuses blown? If so, that does not sound encouraging.

You just list Nav on your options and mods, I assume that is the factory nav unit. Some other radios need a radio code. There is a fuse on the back of the radio, did you look at that one?

Mine is a factory NAV. I'll pull the radio out and check the fuse.

Thanks for your help.

The fuses in the box are fine.

yes sir...I may go this route. The shuryken is dead again...won't hold a charge. I am going to take it up to autozone, and have them test it...if she's dead, then I will put the roadster's in the coupe and buy an interstate for the roadster...not sure what happened, 'cause I do drive them some over the winter and keep a battery tender on them...who knows....Gary, the farm is an Interstate dealer, I will see what dealer price is on that model....thanks...

The weight of a battery is a sign of how much power it can hold, lead is the weight and the more the merrier.
The more plates in the battery the greater the CC numbers, less plates gives more reserve power storage. That is battery basics 101.
Cheaper batteries may be the same outside dimensions but it is the weight that shows how much less you are getting for your money.
Granted that when you push a car with a light weight battery it is an easier task.

Basically like the OPTIMA battery ..... great for marine use because it can be installed in any position, even upside down. I'm old school ..... the heavier the battery, the more lead, the better .... (at least in most cases).
The Shuriken appears to be a DEEP cycle unit, and as stated in their write up, when properly set up with your regular starting battery, it limits the draw on that unit when powering other things like stereo's, winches, anchor windlasses, and other high draw options. Just my take on it...
