Gary, that one looks like it should be fine.... I have an Innovo 3130 that looks more like the one listed below the one you are looking at.... The Innovo is on Amazon for $127.xx so the price for the other one looks in the ball park right....

it is $37 on amazon
Amazon.com: U480 Car Diagnostic OBDII Engine Code Reader: Automotive

the next one they list (for $139 ) runs for around 120 at kragens and $89 on amazon ( I have one, it works fine)

I just looked, I was wrong .... Like Mike, I have a 3130 also .... it was less when I got it ($89, like I said above). This is a good little unit, it displays a lot of info including fuel trim data.

the unit that they list for 139 (and I linked to amazon at $90) looks to be a comparable unit.

Gary, I use an Actron CP9145 that looks very similar.

But the Ultrascan is something you can mount on your dash and have with you all the time. It mounts very nice just under the center AC vents with velcro.

If I was in the market for a scanner and decided against the Ultrascan, I would check into this: http://www.amazon.com/Actron-CP9580L...3&sr=8-1-fkmr0

Thanks for the responses here everyone.
I just ordered this today.

UltraGauge Automotive Information Center and OBDII Scan Tool

I went with the UltraGauge EM since it has so many functions available in just one unit.

I received my Ultragauge yesterday and plugged it in today. I have an '04 LTD Coupe with autotrans.

Everything seemed to go OK until I tried to move the car out of my garage. The BAS/ESP light came on and I was unable to move the gear selector out of "PARK". A couple of years ago I had that problem and had some "switch" replaced under my car's warranty. I knew what to do to manually release the selector, but decided to unplug my Ultragauge as I dont need that hassle every time I drive the car.

Has anyone else had an adverse response by adding the Ultragauge? I dont know whether to try it again or not. Concerned about what other interactions might occur.

I have an '04. My Ultragauge has been plugged in my car since I bought it almost a year ago, not a single problem.

I dont think this is a coincidence with mine, altho I had that "BAS/ESP tranny lockup problem" twice since I bought the car and both times warranty covered the fix. The Ultragauge manual makes lots of references to "unusual or erratic" lights, responses after hookup. I will try it again I guess...would like to make it work. Maybe it was a response to the start-up/download.

Mine indicated the vehicle protocol as KWP2000; I entered 3.2L for engine size. 50 gauges were selected as I recall.

I will try the install process again and see what happens....maybe this time I will start the motor to make sure the ignition is in the "RUN" position before I plug in the gauge.

Look Over the info on "forcing protocol" in the manual... This might help your situation.

I hooked up my new UltraGauge to see what it can do.
Good thing for starters is it didn't find any CEL codes.

This thing has a 56 page user manual and can dispaly more info than I will probably ever need.

It's one thing that the gauge displays so much information; it's another to understand and use that information in some useful way. I dont quite understand the need for all the displayed references to fuel remaining, used, etc. I'm hoping I can sort out from all the statistics signs of potential problems with my car or tune-up needs. The manual offers very little to nothing on how to interpret/use the data displayed by the gauge.
