Default Key won't remove when in PARK ... suggestions?

I fixed the sticky key problem last June, and have had no problems till now. When parking the car and putting the shift into "PARK", and turning the ignition off, the key won't come out. the car can be restarted and everything seems normal, till shutting down and placing in PARK. Key won't come out!
When stopping to park the car, I can shift to NEUTRAL, remove the key, and then shift into "PARK", Thru searching, I found reference to a cable from the ignition switch that may be the culprit, and may need adjustment(?). Anyone have any ideas or suggestions about this?

Howard,

Turn the steering wheel slightly just before attempting to turning the key for removal.

Edit....... Oh just noticed that the key removes in neutral ?

Now I know for a fact that my key will only come out when mine is in "Park"
I cant even turn it all the way to "off" when in neutral.

Howard, it seems there is an ignition cable lock that is connected to the shitfer lever assembly. Look on page 19-21, and read line 3 in the service manual. The cable may have broke or come loose.

James ....... you are "da man"!!! ... Will get it checked out and fixed ASAP. Really appreciate it ...

Just a side note ..... I hope that the members on this forum appreciate the wealth of knowledge about our Crossfires that can be available to them through members like James, Dave (180), Rudy, Max, Woody, and I'm sure I have not mentioned a lot more. But with the collaborative efforts of all of our members that have the same passion, these little works of art will be around for a long time. I love this forum, and the friends I have made. Sorry to get so "mushy"

Well .... James to the rescue again ..... I finally had a chance to drop the panel by the ignition as instructed in the "sticky key" procedure, and found that when I did the Sticky Key repair in June of last year, I evidently didn't securely fit the interlock cable to the ignition, and it had worked loose. After correctly securing the cable back onto the ignition, problem is solved. Thank you ...... Howard
