Default Spoiler motor...

Anyone have one for sale for an 04 coupe please? Mine has finally given up so I no longer have the spoiler opening at 62mph.... I hear they cost around £180 from the USA but not sure who stocks them. Any help very much appreciated.

Politely drop them a line in English, chances are someone will understand! (or use Google translate and apologise for poor German)

That's possible.... I havent checked in there for a while, I just knew it would be a great place to start.

The wing's motor is identical in all models non SRT isnt it???? I personally have not reasearched the topic though.

Used. Works like a treat. I have 2 of them. 1 is now mounted. Either it is from JHM2Ks old N/a or another obe i found on lkq. I thought it was faulty, but my connections were the reasons of no wing deploy. Unnecessaty to have two of them.

Unless you guys fancy paying $784.80 from oediscountparts, I'd stick to a used one.

Here is a link, with part number:

DRIVE. Spoiler. for 2008 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE 3.2L V6 SOHC 18 Valve, 6-Speed Manual Limited Roadster (05096800AC)

I looked it up manually on www.oediscountparts.com and found they offered a 25% discount (search under BODY HARDWARE-->LIFT GATE-->SPOILER-->spoiler)

Here's the rub: the motor itself is not separately serviced. I've contacted Webasto (the manufacturer of the spoiler) directly, since they're a vendor for Nissan as well. I had them run the Chrysler part number (05096800AA (which supersedes to an 05096800AC)) and they confirmed it is only available as a complete assembled unit.

Now, an option may be to find any stamping numbers on the motor and try to contact the direct manufacturer of the motor, as that is likely provided by a Tier-2 supplier to Webasto. One of the numbers on the spoiler assembly, A193 75 00 060, does not exist in any record.

But, as far as a Chrysler replacement part, it's the whole assembly only. Sadly there is no R170 part that can be had for cheaper, because this is specific to the Daimler R193/ZH chassis (aka the Crossfire)

Thanks for this info. I have seen them for alot cheaper but can't rememeber where that was. I was quoted around £700 for the part from a UK supplier but found somewhere in the States doing exactly the same part for approx £200...

Being on the cheap side by nature when I can avoid grossly inflated prices for simple and often repairable items, why not see if the motor is repairable? Too often we are suckered into the disposable ideology prevalent these days. After all how hard can it be to repair?

This is something I was thinking about today. I know how to take the thing apart so why not take a look to see if there is anything obvious with it.

Good for you, after all what's to lose, it's broken anyway.

Just hope it doesn't turn out to be the wiring loom as that could be tricky.
