performance chips

Default performance chips

has any one install one of these advertised chips stating better gas performance and horse power? do they work?

I don't think theres ever been a "Chip" that coast $30 to ever do as advertised....
sounds as silly as the magnetic fuel saver...lol

I think they actually manipulate the throttle response, but they aren't worth the money. A custom tune with a tuner like Eurocharged is the only way to go.

very true with the EuroTune...but ALSO...Sprint Booster....I speak from experience (I have both) the combo of these 2......AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

Totally agree. The sprint booster although salty on price actually manipulates the throttle to give immediate throttle response. No lag at all. No hp gain, but quick throttle response. With that said, the tuner can sometimes take care of the throttle response without the sprint booster. So, check before you buy.

Actually what the "chip" is , is a few resistors that trick the ECU into thinking that the car is running lean and richens the fuel mixture. The idea that you can gain 50 or 60 hp and get better mileage is ludicrous. They never show you documented evidence. As stated previously, a tune by EC or Inmotion is the way to go.
