Default Oil Consumption

I just got home from my trip to the Woodward Dream Cruise Plus. Great trip. Put on over 3600 miles. The problem is I had to put in 2 qts of oil one about every 1700 miles. It doesn't seem to be burning it. No smoke and no signs of oil on the ground. Please help.

That's WAY too much - It's gotta be going somewhere, either a leak, worn valve guides/seals, leaking crankshaft seals, or worn piston rings.
Did you remove the belly pan and look closely at the bottom of the engine ?
Did you remove the top cover and inspect the valve covers and vent covers ?
BTW: How many miles total is on the car ?

Mine doesn't use any at all that I can tell. Here's hoping it's a gasket somewhere.

I just got home last night. I will check all as soon as I can. I am hoping it is a valve cover gasket. The same thing happened a couple of years ago and then stopped. So I forgot about it till now.

Is there ANY chance the last oil change wasn't done right?

It just seems like a LOT in such a short period of time - if it was leaking (I am assuming your trip was a week or 10 days here), you'd think you would have noticed something.

I run without the cover under the engine - if you have the cover on, it would SEEM a leak would leave most of it down there.

I have to drop the cover and check. I will do that the first chance that I get. This weekend I hope.

I removed the bottom cover and there are no signs of a oil leak. The strange part is that there are also no signs of the engine burning oil. I have to do an oil consumption check. Toped off the oil today and will check to see how many miles it takes to use one qt..
