Smile tune up (HELP)

I need some help to find a good mechanic and someone who can tune an SRT6. I know that these car really go but can't find a good mechanic......Had it into Chrysler several time to have the automatic system that monitors the air pressure for the tires. it took 5 trips for them to figure it out.

I am willing to travel in order to get the car tuned up and to have a good mechanic go through the car...

I live near Sharon, Pa..

Thank you

Have you tried looking in your area for an independent Mercedes Benz shop? Since these cars have the drive train of an MB, the Chrysler folks are pretty much lost when they go under the hood (unless the dealer has a certified Crossfire mechanic on staff).

Also, if you are somewhat handy and like to do things yourself, the Forum has a TON of experienced people that can walk you through just about any problem you are having.

I think you are not looking for a tune, you are looking for someone to check that all the systems are working as they should. There really is not anything to tune unless you have someone access the black box with a computer and remap it.

Willing to bet he's not running strong because of the IC pump failure. He should drive up to see Rob at Needswings.

Onehundred-Not sure what you mean by there is nothing to tune.Do these cars not get or need a tune-up? I was thinking of taking mine in before I head to California for the winter with it,is this not needed? Ever?

You need to talk to Tom2112. PM him as he lives right there, and he is well versed on the SRT6. He has a modified black coupe. He can look at anything you have and steer you in the right direction.

The PTCM uses the TONS of sensors to tune the car as you drive it. MOST vehicles today are like that.

What I did at 60,000 miles was a coolant flush, new belt and air filters. At 100,000, I'm doing Plugs, Fuel filter/regulator, New Water Pump, hoses and new coolant again.

With an Auto trans, I have done fluid and filter between 50,000 and 70,000 - but my crossfire doesn't have a PRNDL!

Shops that sell you "tune ups" are not being honest with you.
