Default Would not start

My 2005 XF has a mind of it's own. Purchased with 34,000 miles last year. Love the car except for the stalling issue. After reading all the threads on this forum regarding stalling and after taking the car to a Mercedes mechanic who could not find anything wrong...it stalled twice on my way home from the mechanic.

I then read about the Relay control module and have those 3 contacts re-soldered. I did that and the car has been great for the past 6 weeks until last night. After driving home from work, I stopped at a Pharmacy drive through window. I shut the motor off and it would not start. I then pushed the car out of the line and waited thinking it will start after 20 minutes. An hour later, it still would not start. I had it towed home.

I went down this morning to see if it will start and yes it does. Any thoughts??? I am trying to not to have an attitude but this is getting rediculous.

I think I will attempt the CPS this weekend.

I'm guessing it would crank at the key but not fire/run?

No...no cranking at all. just silence. no clicking, no cranking, no nothing. When the lights were turned on, the headlights would not even dim when I tried to start.

That doesn't point to the CPS.. I would look over the relay control module again..

You can find the service manual in the docs section.
Go to section 8F - 34 STARTING SYSTEM
