Default Newby Questions...

I have had the car for 2 days now and I have a couple general questions and 1 problem so far. (2005 SRT-6 Coupe)

1. Today while driving the car all gauges quit working, odometer, clock and all warning lights came on, car ran fine and the radio was still on so it couldn't have been a complete power loss. It only stayed like that for about 3 seconds then everything came back on and worked like normal the rest of the 10 miles to my house. I did try a search but nothing that seemed to match my problem popped up.

2. How would I determine if the car already has an aftermarket pulley? I don't know if there is any certain difference or certain markings I could look for. Reason I ask is I can't find any info about this car on the forum and there are a lot of performance parts on the car from Needswings.

3. Is it normal for the car to ride so rough? I do not believe it is lowered, but it seems real rough, I also haven't owned a car with low pro's in years, maybe that's the problem.

Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks

In response to question #2. Measure them The stock crank pulley I believe is 155mm, the add ons are 178, 181 and 185. The supercharger pulley stock is 74 mm, modded anything smaller, there are a few available including machining of the OEM.

I've driven both the N/A and the SRT-6 and the 6 did ride quite a bit stiffer than the N/A. When I bought my 6, it rode extremely rough. I checked the pressure in the tires and the dealer I bought it from serviced the tire pressure to 50 psi - the max on the tire. When I serviced them to the recommended pressure, the ride softened quite a bit - but it was still stiffer than any other car I've owned.

Thanks, I will measure them. I figured that's probably what I would have to do, just wanted to make sure there wasn't a quicker way to check it.

I figured it was just me getting old, my SRT-8 Cherokee rides pretty rough to, must just be the sport suspensions.

Just an update to #1, it has happened 2 more times, this time I paid a little more attention, the speedometer needle continues to climb until power is restored, the odometer and trip meter go out but it reads the maintenance interval like when you first turn the car on. I have no clue but I am guessing the power is being cut from the cluster for a second. I am going to dig into it tomorrow and check all the plugs and pins.
