Default Is this normal operating range?

It seems a bit high but may be normal for the SRT-6, thought I'd ask those in the know...

Yes, in the summer it's always a hair over the middle. With the cooler months it'll stay at the middle notch.

94 degrees yesterday non SRT same temperature. Yours at 81 degrees would seem just fine.

The feedback is much appreciated, thanks again. I will consider it normal from here on out.

I added Water Wetter to my coolant to help the engine run cooler.

Mine runs from just under the mid line to just over, depending on circumstances. It seems rock solid though, even in long desert drives and stuck in traffic for 2 hours on a 85 degree day.

I hope you realize the digital temperature on the dial is the outside temperature from sensors located behind the front fascia & has nothing to do with the coolant temperature.

Mine runs 186 cruising at 55-60 w/o A/C, 195 with A/C. ( UltraGuage )
186 = just below the middle mark, 195 = half a needle above the middle mark.

Mine is the same as yours. Your right at 204º in case your wondering. Normal for summer months. Numbers courtesy of Dashdaq.

Wrong gauge Doc ( but then, you probably know that )
BTW: 15 gal fuel x 6.073 lbs per gal = 91 lbs.
Running at 1/4 tank saves you 68 lbs, would this make much difference in a 1/4 mile run ?

My gauge never gets to the middle mark, Ultragauge shows a temp of 186 to 190.

But I had the "-10C" mod done to my car for $50 by Buckhead Imports and I recommend it to everyone. My fan's operating parameters are lowered 10C/18F by the mod, that is, the fan runs at much lower temperatures. I have no idea why they put a 190F thermostat in there and THEN didn't program the fan to maintain 190F. But now, mind does just that.
