Default New troubling issues

Hello everyone, I just replaced my right side low beam bulb. Well I learned the hard way not to drop the clip in the light assembly! But this is not my issue.

Right after, my right side parking bulb burned. I bought new ones today. After replacing the bulb, I turned on the lights and it still wasn't working. Then I noticed that the entire right side lights and markers were not lit up. Hummm.. So I went to the fuse box to find a burnt fuse. I replaced it and it burned again...

Now, I'm not quite sure where the problem could be. Last week, everything was functioning properly. Any ideas?

Also, I dropped my key on the ground last week and the remote access doesn't activate the locking systems anymore. Any ideas on this one also?

Thanks everyone.

You are not having a good week. Not sure if you are close to St. Louis where a lot of crazy XF owners live and would love to help you out in person, but if not, my guess is you created a short somewhere in your install. Something touching something it shouldn't be. As for the key, you must have either broken something inside, or caused the battery not to be making contact for power. I would re-trace your steps in your install, maybe pulling bulbs out and re-installing for a start. The key, will need carefully pried apart and examined.

Sorry to hear of your problems, I know nothing about your lighting problems but, like you I dropped my keys a while back and had the same problem. What I did was pop the battery cover off, removed the batteries and reinsert them. There is a whole thread here https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...estroying.html that shows you how to take apart your fob. DO NOT follow this thread, that is for addressing other fob problems (although there are a couple photos included that show the battery cover off). The battery cover is located on the same side of the fob as the CHRYSLER logo at the open end of the fob. Gently pop that cover off to access the batteries. I hope that solves one of your problems.

I have read a number of headlight bulb replacement problems. Any value in pulling the assembly out first? Would also be an opportunity to clean the inside.

Yes, sounds like a bulb/socket problem. You have a "dead Short". Check the bulb socket for corrosion and possible touching of the contact points in the socket itself. Start with the bulb socket of the lamp you just replaced on that side.

Thanks everyone for your insight. I already tried to reinstall the batteries in my keys but it didn't do any good. I'm wondering if this fouls be part of my electrical issue.

I forgot one info. My top is one of these that are not recalled but the window came off. I did pretty good fixing this using a pass thread about 3M window weld. I just noticed this week, after torrential rain, that a section was leaking pretty bad. After reading some threads about electrical issues, I found one about an electrical component in the trunk that could be submerge in water and cause awkward electrical trimmers. Anyone support the idea that could be my trouble. Electrical---water---short circuit---sounds probable!

Thanks again and I enjoy reading comments, threads, info, videos from all of you and this fun toy----I meant car.
peace

Ps I'm not far from St-Louis

That changes everything. I think you are NOW on the right track with a wet SKREEM module.

Actually the Skreem module is under the dash.. the power locking / security module is in the trunk.

Yes you are correct. The security-locking module is the one that can get wet.
