Convertible Top Problems!
Hey Gang! I have a 2005 Crossfire Convertible. I love the car but have honestly had nothing but trouble with it since the beginning because of the idiots working at my Chrysler dealer. Every time I took the car in for a repair, they did something to mess it up and replaced things incorrectly. The final time was when the rear windshield was falling out… They outsourced the repair (with out telling me) to another shop that just glued the part that had come loose. They didn't bother removing the entire window and re-gluing the entire thing so of course, the area where they glued was fine, but the rest started falling apart a year or two later. Finally the window was hanging on my a thread and I read online about this being a typical problem, and that the top would have to be completely replaced. The idiots at Chrysler offered to repair it for $3500. After months of searching, I finally found a great deal on a replacement top online ($500) and it took a few months to find a shop that would do the repair. It was then that we noticed the rear lift on the trunk wasn't lifting. The motor was running, so it was trying to lift but nothing was happening. The repair shop was able to raise it manually to get the originally top off and replaced it beautifully, so I am able to protect the car from the elements now, but unable to use it as a convertible until I get this fixed. Once the top was on, it stopped working at all but I suspect the repair place disconnected it (The windows don't even go down now)… I was hoping one of your members could help with this… I don't want to take it to Chrysler.
