Default Stock alarm lock and unlock beep??????

How do you get it to make the beep when you lock and unlock. I test drove one that beeped with the stock alarm but the car I bought did not do it. If it's in the manual I missed it. Or the one I test drove had something added on but it was new so I dont think it did. I do have the siren when you lock it and open the door from the inside. Hope someone knows this one because I dont think the dealer knows anything about my car. at all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks

I just did a search and alot of people say it will not have one ,But the one I test drove did, and it had a stock key fob. with the same siren, And it was brand new!! At a crappy dealer, so I know they didn't mod. it in any way. I wish there was a tech # I could call for this car because every dealer I call say they know very little or nothing about the car. And the 1-800-chrysler # is just for dealer info. they couldent tell me anything or about anybody I could call for info. Sorry to post this if it really is'nt possible but I know what I drove and It just dos'nt seem right that one did make a noise and the rest dont. Maby they did do something to it but if you seen the dealer you could under stand why I have to ask.
Thanks

I was going to buy that car but I wanted to look for a better price so I waited one day (just one) and when I went back to put a down payment on it they sold it, so it took another week to find another one at the right price I had to drive 600mi round trip but it was worth it.

According to the '04 Repair Manual, the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) button will activate the door locks, alarm and turn signal lamps. The system checks a number of items such as both door latches, liftgate, hood, glove box, etc. to ensure that they are engaged before activating the alarm and turn signal lamps. There also is reference to the fact that if any one of these items is not properly engaged, the siren will be activated.

My guess is that when you pressed the remote button, there must have been something not engaged for the alarm activation to be completed and as a result the siren (alarm) sounded for a split second to alert you of this status.

Another interesting point that this manual makes is that if you press the remote to unlock the doors, deactivate alarm and do not open doors, the doors will automatically re-lock after 40 seconds of no action. How many of us knew that was a feature?
