Not The RCM!
I finally joined, but have been using all of your useful tips for years. I have an '05 coupe with the 6 speed manual transmission. I had the phantom no crank, and none of tips here solved the problem, but they pointed me in the right direction, so thank you. I started with the obvious - the battery, starter, clutch pedal switches, fuses, ignition switch, etc., to no avail. I then looked in this forum and found the RCM and pulse module tips. I found no power to the pulse module, but the clutch pedal switches and ignition switch were fine. Long story short, there is a lever that is pop riveted onto the clutch pedal assembly that actuates the clutch pedal switch when the pedal is pressed. The rivets in the lever were loose, and would not let the lever fully actuate the switch! It was a royal pain, but I was actually able to get this old body twisted around enough under the dash to get the rivets out, and install some small bolts in their place, without removing the clutch and brake pedal assembly. I just didn't want to have to deal with bleeding the clutch system. Hindsight being 20-20, it probably would have been easier to take out the assembly though. I hope this helps someone else with the same issue. I have seen several posts where the vehicles were in the shop for months...
Welcome to the forum. The coveted, hindsight is 20-20 perspective, is one of the building blocks the forum was founded on. Owners helping owners, save a few bucks ,get a few less skinned knuckles, and the wife from saying,"What's all that cussing about?"
It's a time saving eutopia, with stored information or a helping answer, that is a question away. These guys an gals are the best. IMHO (You would almost think I was gonna sell him something)

Later,
Are you SURE you have a pulse module ?
I thought only the automatics had this.
The last 6 speed I drove did not have a pulse module.
How could I tell ?
I am used to just bumping the key to start on my automatic and the pulse module takes over.
On that 6 speed, I had to hold the key in start until the engine was running.

@ala_xfire - Yes. I used the wiring diagram from the service manual I found through another post in this forum (Thank you!). It shows the wire colors from the clutch switch, where the module is supposed to be, and I found a picture online which matches up with what I've got.
George I have a question that you may be able to answer I hope, it has nothing to do with the 6-speed in this post it's about the automatic transmission specifically the transmission control module, can it be safely taken apart so the PCB can be inspected and cleaned if necessary? I pulled mine out the other day and the wiring harness was a little damp with transmission fluid so I pulled the connectors off and cleaned them with contact cleaner and dried them off and reinstalled, but I did not try and take apart the TCM like we do the RCM because I didn't know if I could do so safely, any thoughts on this? The transmission data connector o rings were changed about a year ago, but I think they may be leaking again I'm going to check this weekend.
Alright then, thanks for responding back, maybe someone else has and will chime in.
