Default Tri-Phase Controller

Has anyone ever used, read critiques on, or is otherwise aware of this product?

http://www.nextlevelracing.com/Triphase.htm

If real-world results are 1/2 of their claims, it seems like it would be worthwhile.

No, I think its bs. Reason being on the webpage with the different applications (Cars) that it worked with had the Crossfire. However it never had Mercedes on there. If you ever looked under the hood, or behind any panel on our cars. You would clearly see that it is mostly mercedes benz. I know if I discovered that, and made a system that worked for it. I would most definitely throw Mercedes into the Mix.

Hmm...no disrespect intended, but I kind of wanted more than just the fact they have a shoddy web site as the deciding criteria Do you perhaps know of anyone who has tried one of these?

I asked a friend who's car knowledge I put great trust in, and his answer was "I don't know...I don't trust it" so like you I'm somewhat skeptical. But, even he admitted that the logic behind the device sounded good, so he didn't really know why he didn't trust it other than he hadn't heard of them before.

P.S. - I emailed them and asked them about the missing MBs; I'll get back when I get a reply (they emailed me promptly the first question I had).

I'm not saying the logic isn't good myself, I actually agree with you in thinking like it sounds like it could be a possibility. However from experience, when I see a site that offers something for the Crossfire, and not for the Mercedes or Vise versa. I automatically assume its a bogus thing. I've called some places to find out if, which ever part(s) that they are selling have infact been tested with our cars. Most places assume that its an American "GM" car, and that it could most likely work. Some of these people have to do there homework a little bit better

OK, I get what you're saying now. Again, I apologize if it seemed like I was attacking your credibility before - that wasn't my intention.

Well he emailed me back and said that I'm the first person to ever email him inquiring about a Mercedes , and that they didn't put Mercedes up there because they couldn't properly market it. I don't know exactly what he means by that, though.

There is a 90 day money-back guarantee, so I think I'm going to give it a test. I'll let everyone know what I think. Also, because people's opinions and observations here are, for the most part, worthless (all I ever see is "do you have a dyno?") I suppose I should get dynos done to back up my observations. So, what is the most cost effective way to do a dyno? I'm not interested in getting exact rwhp numbers using state of the art equipment. All I'm really looking for is to see a relative increase in the numbers.

Don't worry XethW, I know you weren't attacking, just questioning it a little bit. As far as not being able to market it... YA not so sure were he's going with that one either.
To get close numbers, you can Use a G-tech, I tried to use one, however It didn't work because my cigarette lighter port in my car is faulty, sometimes it can work, and sometimes it won't. Its the connection wiring. I noticed it would work when I pushed on it really hard. But as for the G-Tech, that current is crucial, if it flickered, the reading would make absolutly no sense. So I scrapped that idea

This looks suspiciously like those Radio Shack-type "resistor chips" that are sold on eBay for $5.00. I've never come across anyone who's used one that says they do anything. But don't let me be a hater If you're willing to try it out for the rest of us, then by all means thank you and please share your results! Just remember to get a before and after dyno if at all possible, or else you'll be crucified by the skeptics here (and there are plenty).

Then again, you can always tell the skeptics to go hobbydick themselves

Isn't that Hobbydik thing catchy! I can't help but laugh everytime I read it. Well since that has only really been twice, I would say its really funny still. I would say the Dyno is the test results, however it isn't the easiest thing to do, nor is it the cheapest thing to do either. I would strongly recommend the G-tech. If you know someone who has one, borrow it. It will only take a couple of minutes to put in your cars information. Or if you want to spend a couple hundred bucks, Buy it. You could look at it this way, if you want to do any more testing in the future, you'll have it.

If you buy this piece of crap you might as well buy the "Cyclone" air thingie that goes in your intake, with the two of these mods each giving 20hp, you'll soon have a 255+ hp Crossfire!! =)

LOL

I know the physics behind why the cyclone won't work; plus, I know people who've used the cyclone and say it doesn't work. I don't have the same situation with this thing. Have you used it, or know of poeple who have?
