Default Speedo not working

Hi Everyone. I bought my 2004 Coupe in August 2017 and it has been a wonderful car. Recently the speedo has stopped working and the usual warning lights are flashing and displaying on the dash. My local garage is having problems sourcing the correct part. It is the speedo drive that attaches to the gearbox that they believe to be the problem. Am I correct that the gearbox is Chrysler, not Merc...and can anyone give me advice where to source a speedo drive in the UK.

Regards and thanks

The gearboxes are Mercedes, both auto and manual boxes.
The Speedo works from an electronic speed sensor, no cable involved.
