You are correct it's a typo; no problem I'm glad I could help.

Huh? Please re-read post 16!

You are replying to post 16, right?

Post 16 said cannot use the key to lock/unlock.

Not to start a back and forth, but in this thread he states he can't lock or unlock his car with the fob or with the key in the door(blade). Post 13 only states that the FOB is now able to lock it remotely( electronically). He never stated whether the actual blade in the door fault was fixed.

You said "Im having the same exact issue. I can lock it with the remote and buttons but not with the key in the door.", NOT SAME ISSUE @ ZERACER posted, post 13 was the FUSE.

ZERACER said " Read post #13, "

Post 13 by 05RagTop said the FUSE was the fix for HIS FOB locking/unlocking, never mentions the key (blade).

I GUESS this is what happens when people who reply to someone doesn't reference WHO they are replying to? Done here, someone else can untangle it! Not a back and forth here!

"just don't understand how the fob can lock my car if the key in the door can't." Those are the OP's words as seen in #6.

FOB can unlock any car when 'synched', key might not be THE key (cut for the car or lockset, originally), as in someone replaced the door handle OR some parts were swapped and the door handle lock was NOT available? Last suggestion, maybe the door LOCK was either broken, or someone stuck something in it to ruin it?

I don't know what his issue ended up being because he never answered that particular question. I could only answer what mine was.

Good people,

Excuse me for reviving this thread to raise this issue, but I have a similar issue. I have two key fobs that were programmed to the SKREEM three years ago. They both were functioning well for the three years. In fact, I would exchange which key fob I used each day to ensure that both maintained memory and functioned with the car. Both fobs did everything -- unlocked the car, started the car and kept it running, unlocked the door and the glove compartment. A few months ago, one key fob started failing. I changed the batteries in the fob. In fact, I changed batteries in both fobs since they were put in at the same time. I followed the fob reprogramming procedure. One of the fobs works as well as it did before. However, the other fob no longer locks the car. I have tried the fob reprogramming procedure a few more times with it, but without success. I can get it to unlock the car, but it won't lock it. All the while, the "good" fob continues to work flawlessly.

What options might I have to rectify this so I again have two functional fobs?

Many thanks,

John

Be certain the batteries are installed correctly and that the contact points are clean and making contact. You might also contact, Mercedes Swap Shop for advice.

Thanks, ZERACER. Yes, the batteries are correct. I even check the key fob emitter with my phone camera to see it flashing when I depress either button. I didn't open the fob yet to look at the printed circuit board to see if anything is amiss there, but might.
