Default 2005 SRT no check engine light runs rough

I have a 2005 SRT with 35K on the clock. The car has a problem that a small shop that specializes in German cars and the dealer has yet to figure out. When you start the car, it will run rough with little or no throttle response. When this is going on it is over fueling the system if it had a carburetor it is as if the choke is full on. When scanning the engine the oxygen sensors are seeing the fuel load and sending the information to the ECM it is trying to handle this. We have yet to see a check engine light and to date no codes have been set. This is interment unexpectedly it will do the choke out with no check engine light. Everyone is starting to think the ECM is the problem I have been told when it does choke out you can see the readings on more than on sensor show unexpected reading. One other thing it started doing is if it dies when choking out the engine it will not crank first few tries. If anyone has any ideas on this symptom or has experienced a similar problem let me know what your symptoms were and the needed repair. The shop is now saying take it home and see how it runs out, riding on the back of a tow truck is a bad day.

Thanks in advance for any help
Steve

I had similar symptoms when the fuel pump only could manage less than 10 psi in another car I owned. When the car warmed up it ran better but not as good as it should have, a new fuel pump did the trick.

Thanks for the help on this problem I have delayed my response due to the time delay for the repair. The shop that did the work on it was convinced the throttle body was the culprit they have seen similar problems like this before but they would see a code logged. Changed this and they drove it for a few days and said it is fixed, I picked the car up and it did the same thing over fueled and died in 50 feet. We had to push it back in the shop still no code. They continued troubleshooting but they had trouble duplicating the problem and frankly sick of seeing it. They drove it to the dealer so this could be troubleshoot or repaired this was talked about and I was OK with it. They had the hope a DRB3 would give more info.
The dealer had it for a while had it towed back to the dealership one time after it died and they gave up, NC just make this go away.

After it was back at the first shop, it was a bit of struggle to get a direction of what to do. I had sent them my research about loose solder joints and a few other ideas to try. In their defenses, they were hesitant to try any repair the problem is an interment problem. It would be hard to charge for all the time and then have it fail again. I had them ohm out all the circuits to the ECM and check the other critical circuits and they were in spec. My background is heavy-duty truck repair, the new units use all kinds of modules now, and it can kick your tail if you do not have some test parts. When we see engine problems and the wiring is good and no codes we use test modules with the cost of some of these parts you want to be sure of your diagnostics.

I suggested used test parts an ECM for starters. I could not find a used ECM for the SRT, I found Module experts in Florida and sent the ECM to them for testing. This was a 6 weeks to them and back after testing, they say they found loose solder joints made repair and shipped it back. After install unit fired up and has ran fine, we have driven about 500 miles and not a problem yet. This would usually show up about every 75 miles on the outside. I am in hope this was the problem and will update my post if we have problems in this area.

Now I need to get the TPMS light to go out the dealer is the only one that can do this from what I have found out so far, I have new OEM sensors but the light is on I would like to find another option on setting this to learn mode.

The shops removed the Throttle body and did adjust the bill they were more than fair.
