Re: Let's discuss the key fob transponder chip(s)
Padgett - The photo is good information. I've never seen a "valet" key for any car. Is there a chip inside the black base of the key? Since this key either bypass's the SKREEM or communicates with the SKREEM, allowing the car to start and run, it may be the answer we've all been looking for. Any idea's, anyone?
I look forward to your report on the chip's and tool that you mentioned above. Let us know how it works and if it is successful.
Jim

Hi
For anyone that wants to experiment with making/duplicating their Crossfire keys. The correct blank chip to use is a PCF7935AA
Like these ones on eBay: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/10PCS-PC...s/172143666760
You can program them with this: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/OBD2-Min...w0E9:rk:1:pf:0
Have fun!

Ok I have received the five RFID chip. Programmer from eBay should be here on the 8th. The "valet key" below can manually open the door or trunk and operate the ignition/start/run the car.It just has no remote capability.
By the muddle of January I should be able to answer other questions.
Anyone know where I can get just a circuit board ?

Anything to do with those angry pixies running around is pure magic to me.

Another class is designing packaging for products that are nearly impossible to open.

Re: Let's discuss the key fob transponder chip(s)
Hi Dave, Respectfully, I think you're confused about the function of the circuit board in the key fob. My belief and experience is that the key fob circuit boards are "generic" and can be programmed to any Crossfire so as to lock / unlock / sound the panic alarm (but not to start and run the car) The circuit board is not tied to the SKREEM (disabler) module and is not tied to the "chip" in the key fob that is needed to start and run the car. A working circuit board from any OEM Crossfire key fob (old or new) can be (re)programmed to to work with another Crossfire. I'm not positive about the circuit boards that come with those "cheapie" key fob replacements (the black ones readily available on E-Bay) as my experience with one of those was that I could not program their circuit board to my Crossfire. Maybe someone else can chime in if they were successful in programming the circuit boards on those black replacement key fobs.

I realize that the circuit board is just for opening the doors, the trouble is getting one. If we can train a chip and cut a key all we need is a circuit board to complete a fob that works on our cars. Simple.

Yes it's the same key. A lot a Mercedes cars from the same era used these keys. Search for a "KR55" key. There's two systems, right hand drive cars use a 2 button key and SKREEM that work at 433MHz, left hand drive cars (USA) use a 3 button key and SKREEM that work at 315MHz.

Zed-Bull program:
OK now have the programmer and can read a fob but the instructions are in mock-swedish and I an not sure what half of the buttons are for. Is there an English version ?
OK so gave up on the PC for the moment and just used the device. Results were frustrating. Went through the process for cloning original had a bunch of data and Type 33.
Cloned new chip, everything verified with same data and same type..
Tried in car - no go.
Read chip. Now has correct data stream but "Type: Blank Philips"
Went through the process there more times. Verified Type 33 after writing but when I read the chip it is "Type Blank Philips" and does not work.
Does anyone have one of these programmers and does it work. Am I missing something ?

Here is the problem. In the first picture I have read the existing key.
In the second the new chip has been read and verified.
In the third I have read the new chip again and now the TYPE has changed to blank. What am I doing rong ?
ps after two starts the "Data" has not changed.

The first chip shows PCF7930, second picture PCF7935. Have no idea if that makes any difference?

I did purchase the -5, the first photo is where I read the data from the existing/working key.
Just ordered some 7530s but may be the end of the month. They do look more like the one I removed from the damaged but functional fob.
