The day has come
I have passed the CISSP exam for all those IT workers out there and my fiancée rewarded me with choice of aftermarket part.
I think I am going to go with chip, now the choice is Powerchip or SpeedTuning.
Here is the response I got from Oliver:.
Sure, we have a chip for your Crossfire and yes we did do a software upgrade, we maxed it out pretty much, up to plus 25HP. Would be a software reflash of your ECU, either send in the ECU or come to the shop in MD. Price and chip would be the same as the SLK320, in case you want to order from the web page.
Best regards,
Oliver
Powerchip says they offer 14 day money back guarantee. But the dyno they sent me before showed only 8 HP at the wheels for the 91 version. Say the 93 version gets 2 more horses that is 10 HP at the wheels.
Let the debate begin.

I have talked to speedtuning as well, ask him what the redline is after the remap. Also does his remap do away with the top speed limiter? He told me I SHOULD also install K&N's as well in order to really FEEL the difference. I don't want them and told him so, and he was reluctant to give me any HARD data. He acted like he didn't want to do the remap without the filters. I suspect he's over doing it on the numbers.
IMO chip tuning doesn't make too much sense for a NA. Big money for a few HP.
Tune a diesel is ok and achieves a good upgrade in performance.
But I've seen a lot of chip tuned in this forum, therefore I don't want to offend nobody.

I am waiting back for specifics on PowerChip but I am leaning that way. Much more reputable company and they seem to have good customer service.
I would love to get RennTech but that price seems a little zesty to me.
I will let everyone know what the powerchip specifics are when i get them.

Oh, side note here.
I called green filters and talked to them about the 'kit' which was supposed to be coming out. they said they weren't sure if it was still in the pipeline or not.
Guy also said our air system is almost flawless and recommended that not much more HP could be made with Twister setup and recommended I just get the drop in filters.

Powerchip Update:
Just talked to Joel at Powerchip. Gave $50 discount for our forum members. So total price is $640.
He is emailing me instructions on removing the ECU, I will review before purchasing.
Rev limiter is not moved, said they got almost no gain by raising it and risk of engine damage was much higher.
Top speed not increased, left at stock.
No different program for auto vs. manual.
Hope this helps.

Powerchip is the actual company not a shop.

Green Filter twister are my next project ($500) and I'll just buy stainless steel tubes from PepBoys or AutoZone and install it myself. I'll modify the airflow by attaching a tube towards the opening in the front grill so as to give increased airflow pressure to push air through the filters then to the tubes. I will remove the K&N filters which will open up alot of room under the engine cover.
Good Luck there Cyril.
It all seems so easy, I thought the same thing guys. It really isn't worth the money your going to spend on a hybrid intake system. The thing that you have to keep in the back of your mind, is Turbulence. I have already done what your talking about. The increase is as minimal as the guys at green filter say. And the whole reason why they aren't sure whether or not they are going to put it in the line up, is because of the market for it. From what I can tell, is the A lot of the Crossfire Owners are waiting for the next guy to take the plunge first. No one wants to be the guy to make a purchase of more then just a couple bucks, and come to find out that it isn't as big of a jump as they had dreamed up in there mind.
The other thing that I think people loose sight of is the "#". Everyone wants that little HP+ # next to the add, to be in the 20-30 HP+ range. They want the "55 HP GAIN FOR ONLY $29.95". You would be amazed at what an added 10 Horses to your car feels like. As far as performance gains in the "just bolt on and go level", are not leaps and bounds like you would find with adding a Super Charger. If you like #'s, buy a Super Charger, there are a couple to many numbers in that Line up.
You get what you pay for. You want 120 HP+ gain. It will cost you about 10k. You want 30-40 HP gain, you can achieve that for about 1000-1200.00. It all depends on Pain Vs. Pleasure.
The way I live my life is, why talk about how great it would be.... I rather live the life. I'm not afraid of losing money on a mod. You have to take chances in order to a achieve that blissful feeling you get when you pull away from that New Acura, or whatever. Its little moments like that, drive you to want that added performance. I have a motto that I say every morning before I start my day. It is, "Live the Dream Everyday." What it means to me is live those little moments everyday of your life.
I know this thread has taken a turn, but it is like Zen in the art of High Performance.

I had mine done by Joel at Power Chips.
The service was great and I am very happy with the results. Yes, it is a bit more that some of these other "back of their garage tuners" but wouldn't you really rather deal with a company that does this as their business not a side job for extra cash. You spent $30,000 on this car, no time to cheap out now. My motto has always been " you get what you pay for".
This is so true in everything (including strippers, but that's another story).
Joel is great. No worries there.

Another thing....I know it's cheap but I'll add a Turbonator at the end of the tube towards the engine cover hoping to add more turbulence provided by the tip of the Green Filter twister.
latest from Oliver.
In case you get reflashed by the dealer you would qualify for another free tuning.
It would not be detectable by the dealer.
Between 15 and 20HP at the wheel.
Best regards,
Oliver

Ok, my experience with Power Chips was 100% good. The turn around time was about 2 days from the time I sent them my ecu (which is really easy to pull out) to the time I had it back in my grubby little hands and reinstalled in the car. Joel did everything he said he would. I would totally recommend them. As far as power feel for the reprogram, I could definitely feel the difference. It pulls much harder from 3000 rpm on up. It is in no way a huge power gain, but it is absolutely a gain you can feel. Unfortunately I am now used to the increased power so it just feels "normal" to me now. But I could never go back to unchipped. All in all, I had the extra money so that was never an issue, I am very glad I did it. The car is just that much more fun to drive. If you can spare the cash, I would do it.
Talked to Rene at upsolute. Said they don't look at competitors tunes and just tune the best that they can. Seemed like a nice guy.
