My switch to control my up and down of my convertible top, one end "fell into the console". I pulled the console off as much as I could w/o affecting the wiring for the raising of the storage unit for the top. In looking at the "plastic bracket" that holds the switch to the console, the piece on one end to hold the switch in place must have broken off.
So, is there a way to fix it, (I cannot lift the console enough to see if the bracket can be removed, or if it is glued to the console). My guess is it is glued or a permanent part of the console. So, I am guessing I need to buy a new console. Thoughts???
I found that if you pull the rubber grip away from the steel hand brake on al four sides and squirt WD40 between the gap using the straw in the can you can get the grip of easier. Be careful it does not come off in such a position that you punch your self in the face. OUCH!
Thank you, for your response. I will need to get the special tool to disconnect the yellow hose. I do have the manual downloaded on my computer.
No special tool required for the hose, it is a barbed fitting. Be careful that you do not break the nipple. Cut the yellow hose if it does not come off easily
Just so you know. The yellow hose operates the console lock. In the event you break the barb, be sure to plug that end of the hose or your locks will it engage.
