SKREEM Module only warranteed for 40 starts?
I have my 2004 Crossfire at a dealer because of SKREEM module failure. (It took me a long time to find a Chrysler dealer who would work on it.) I was told a new SKREEM module is only warranteed for 40 starts unless I put in a $3,000 engine module. (sorry, forgot the name of the part) On top of it, the new engine module part won't be available until October 2019.
Has anyone heard about this?
Thanks,
Sharon

Yea, let's back up here - why is it at the dealer? What was the car doing or not doing?
They told me the SKREEM wasn't communicating. I had the typical problem of 2 starts and stops and then no turn over.

I brought it to an independent mercedes mechanic and he said he doesn't have the diagnostic tools you would need to diagnose the problem. I called several Chrysler dealers and they said they no longer have the diagnostic tools for the car and that they no longer work on the Crossfire. I found this small dealership that still has the tools and has worked on Crossfires before. I figured that was my only option.

Please describe in detail your problem. Did you have to disconnect the battery each time it did not start to get it to start again?
Forget the other BS, They are trying to make a killing on you, maybe that is how they stay in business.
The car will start twice and on the third attempt, nothing. You have to disconnect the battery to repeat the same process and results. I think I will just have them put in a new SKREEM and leave it at that. The service manager told me the new SKREEM would only be warranteed for 40 starts unless I put in a new engine module that the SKREEM communicates with. Also don't understand why this part would not be available until October....?

I tried to order a spare key a couple of weeks ago and was told Chrysler is changing vendors and will not be able to take any orders until October. I hope this new vendor does not jack prices further.
