Default Starts, Dies, Starts, Dies - Is this the SCREEM Issue:

This happened once a few weeks back. Car started up, died a few seconds later. Started and died again. I started it and applied a little throttle and it operated normally. Haven't had the issue reoccur since then. I believe this is a symptom of the SCREEM module. Thoughts on this and / or if it might be something else? Not sure I want to just replace the SCREEM as a preventative measure but maybe I should consider it?

Crank Position Sensor?
Have you tried to retrieve any fault codes?

I haven't scoped it yet but no lights have come on either. I'll scope it soon. I too thought it might be the CPS but from reviewing the forum pages it seems the SCREEM symptoms are what I experienced. I have a CPS so I may just go ahead and replace it anyway but it's only occurred on one occasion and that was a month ago.

Here's a chance to test my theory. Try just cleaning the CPS and plug and reinstalling! There are no moving parts and no physical contact, so maybe a good cleaning would return them to like new status. Actually I think many of our electrical gremlins might respond to cleaning. I worked on the radar of Phantom F4-Js in the service and that was always our 1st thing to do when we had an electrical issue and it fixed a fair percentage of them.

Thanks. I'll give it a try.

Does not sound like a SKREEM to me. Sounds like a goofy CPS, low fuel pressure, filthy throttle body, etc.
My money is on the CPS.

If the engine not starts properly it can also be the Camschaft Position Sensor. But mostly then the engine fault light turns on and an error is monitored.

I see this problem has been talked about already here. FYI, my Crossfire suddenly started doing this — start well but die immediately. I replaced the battery but no fix, the same. All instrument lights do light up, including the cabin light and radio works. I’ve neglected my Crossfire for over a year. The engine gasket must have broken again and the engine has fair amount of oil spill on both sides. Also possible that miles. The dip stick check shows dirty oil. What is cps and how do I clean it? Thanks in advance.

Definitely not the SKREEM. Three things come to my mind:
1. CPS (fpceuro current have them on sale for around $23, I carry spare with me in the car)
2. Cam sensor
3. Fuel pump

After having improperly seated the chip on my first fob case transfer.. which would simulate a skreem issue.. you don't really get a "start".. more like a cough and almost started thing.
