Default Great progress in car but having throttle position problem

Well i have made a huge progress in my car. Very lengthy to describe everything but the car is starting now and everything electronics work fine.

Issue: What the car starts, it stays on for about 3 seconds and dies. It does this as much as you turn the key. I did find something about the Throttle position, however after doing the throttle test i could see that the throttle opens immediatly the key is turned to the "on" position. I ordered a Gas pedal thinking that might be the problem.

Did anyone have this kind of issue before?

When i press the pedal, the throttle motor does not move at all. Is it suppose to me?

Thanks

It sounds more like it's a problem with the security system.

Ah.. It just got programmed. Everything shows that the security is fine but the code is about throttle position. The car had fuel sitting in it for at least 2 years. I cleaned out the fuel and bought a new fuel pump. The fuel pressure is also great.
Can i see security error code?
Does your throttle motor open and close when you press the throttle(with key turned to the start position)?

Don't really know, but my guess is "probably not", as you are not required to use the accel pedal during start, that is all ECU controlled.
All the accel pedal does is notify the ECU of your intentions, it makes all the decisions from that point.

Is this a NA ? If so, now would be a good time to go on car-part.com and find a replacement 74 mm TB for your 68 mm OEM one.

Mercedes #A1131410125 is the 74 mm TB
You'll need a new O ring : Mercedes #3059970345 or Chrysler #05102933AA

Thanks ala_xfire.

That part is for the Throttle Assemble right? Can i purchase the #A1131410125 ?

Will i need a new O ring if i purchased one that comes from another crossfire the same year or just Mercedes Benz.

The pedal i bought haven't arrived yet so i haven't tested to rule out that as the cause. Did have that error code(throttle position) before?

Thank you!

Almost anytime you take a TB off, it's a good idea to go back on with a new O ring.

You only want to purchase a TB from car-part.com, otherwise you will be paying $500 and up for one.
I got my 74mm 3 years ago for $60 and have had no issues with it.

NOTE: the manifold opening is 74 mm, The OEM 68 mm is on there for marketing reasons.

Dang.. and I've been shopping Ebay for mine! LOL.

But you do have to usually wait a while for one to show up in that price range.

Yes whenever i buy something from car-part.com, it normally take a while before it arrives.
I am just asking these questions because i want to know for sure why it is having this issue. I don't want to buy a part i will not use. I will change the TB eventually but i want to solve the issue i have at hand but if you think it might be the TB i guess i will have to buy one and hopefully put it in myself.

Did anyone have this issue before? If so what was the solution? Is weird because i did a test on the throttle and the motors work fine. This is very confusing

Please let me know! The pedal will arrive tomorrow and i will try it first before ordering the TB.

Thanks guys for contribution.

Back in the dim distant past when Daimler owned Chrysler, they were faced with selling the MB branded S series, and the Crossfires.
They decided it would be wise to 'detune' the 3.2 in the Crossfire a bit, and one thing they did was use the smaller TB.
Makes sense as they then advertised the big $ MB's as having more HP than the red headed step child Crossfires, even though they had the same engine.
Just my opinion, you are welcome to yours.
