Key problems
New member from UK here, with a problem. In July, my key was lost. Have ordered a replacement from local Jeep dealership, but there are supply issues. I have read on Needswings that replacement are not expected until January at the earliest, and am being told a similar thing by FCA. I could really do with moving the car, which is unlocked. I know someone who is breaking a complete car for parts, and who is willing to sell me a key, surround collar, skreem module, and door-lock barrels. My question is, is this a possible fix that will work?
The only way is to purchase and install the complete set of electronics
ECU
BCM
TCU
SKREEM
IGNITION
KEYS
Drivers door lock
(grab the glove box lock to)
and both keys.
It will work with a complete donor set of electronics (you’ll have to change them all for a sure fire start)
When you take it for service and the tech plugs in, the vin will be From the donor car.
if your buying the electronics, ask for the tittle too. If parting out he won’t need it but you will if you need any item that’s VIN related in the future.
