Removing BCM???
Suspect my BCM may be part of my problems, 2005 roadster , and am attempting to remove/replace with one I just purchased---pulled it out , now trying to remove the connector---appears the large metal retainer must pull up to remove the connectors---cant pull this all the way up---I dont see any other release tabs, etc holding the connectors on----dont want to force anything/damage anything---what am I missing---help/advice please-- Leroy
This link, click, will answer your question: BCM removal THE SEARCH FEATURE IN THE UPPER RIGHT CORNER IS A WONDERFUL TOOL.
Thanks Zip---I had done a search earlier, but never got to the post you pointed out. Finally got the connectors off---will get the replacement BCM installed maybe this weekend @ see if spoiler will work. Thanks again.
From other threads I see you have a roadster. The BCM has several numbers on it. You will see not only a part number ( important as to roadster vice coupe) but also hardware and software numbers. To be certain the new BCM will work for you ALL the numbers must be the same.Try the one you have, but if there is a problem, you will have to seek out another BCM with the exact numbers. Good Luck
I did find a BCM with the same hardware & software numbers---changed out today---same problem---spoiler will not work manually with the switch---does open at approx 60 mph--top not operational---windows dont drop when top is released from ws---top switch is flashing---really need to get the spoiler to raise--I am planning to repaint the car over the winter, and want to remove the spoiler for repaint---(perhaps changing color) . Kinda stalled project till I can get the spoiler fixed, and the top operational . Thanks for your help. Leroy
