Anti-Theft System has Shut Car DOWN
Please help with any advice ---
How the anti-theft system can fixed?
What kind of diagnostics need to be done to figure out if its the Anti-Theft System that's failing, making the car completely shut down
It was running fine
New battery & serpentine belt Jan 2020
New FOB Batteries after it wouldn't open the doors, trunk & console (and still won't).
Had it towed to auto repair I bought battery from. They said its an anti-theft system problem and to take to dealership --
Chapman (& West Sahara) Chrysler said they no longer had specialists that worked on Crossfires anymore that I had to take it to Mercedes or European Specialty repair shop
I had it towed to the European Specialty repair shop last Monday.
NOW, 8 DAYS LATER, they've upped my original $188 Diagnostics Fee up to $500 + and theres still NO OFFICIAL DIAGNOSIS OR REPAIR DONE YET!
PLEASE HELP!
I've bought this Crossfire in July 2009 with 20,000 miles.
It only has 100,000 miles now. I have every maintenance and repair record since ownership.
I've come on here (had to create new ID today bc haven't had problems for about 4-5 years) depended on this forum for 11 years now.
Thank you all for being here.

I'm guessing you can open the driver door with your key? If that is true then access to the OBD II data port is under the dash and diagnostic codes should be available.
Here is a link that others have used to open the rear hatch, just click: open hatch
Give us more details on the battery change with the FOB. Are these FOBs original? Can you see a red light flash when looking at the front side of the key ( there is a red lens) when you press the open button. There is a RF chip in the FOB which must be the original that came with the car in order for the doors/hatch to lock/unlock.

The car's at the repair shop and I'm deep into "diagnostics debt" with them (over $500)
Yes I opened the door with the key and it started and died immediately twice, then would never even turn over again.
Over and over upon entry to the vehicle the alarm goes off and is unable to be shut off with fob, it eventually times out.
Center console and trunk are also unable to be opened at all. (Watched you video THANK YOU VERY MUCH!)
The repair shop my car is at wants to charge me $300 just to get into the trunk, which I knew was a simple tool turn somewhere under the trunk handle as I lost the key a very longtime ago (2009) and Chrysler sent out a tech to open it just like that!
Now I need anti-theft system repair and/or override info so that she'll start up and run.
The place its at has had in 9 days now and nothings been correctly diagnosed or repaired!
Thanks again for your time and sharing!

AND The Only Key FOB I have was ordered straight from Mopar in Detroit by the dealership here in Vegas, in 2014, cost me $300 and took a week to get, so I would imagine that's considered an original.

Went out to car and the fob didn't work at all (even though the batteries in it and the car have all been replaced/new in 2020

Michaels, you are describing a failure of the SKREEM module. You can open the hatch by watching the video in post #4.
SKREEMS cab be repaired by 3 companies SOS in Oregon or MDP Services in Florida or NEEDSWINGS in Michigan.
Use the search box in the upper right corner and type in SKREEM. All the info is there.

Michaels - If you contact one or more of the company's mentioned above, for SKREEM repair, please let all of us know what worked to solve your problem. This is of extreme importance to all of us with Crossfire's. I have this little feeling that if your SKREEM unit is repaired/replaced your problem will be solved. Just be sure your key assembly match's the new/repaired SKREEM unit. If you will call Rob at "Needswings" I'm sure he will set you on the correct path to repair. I don't have Needswings phone number handy where I am but just look up Needswings on the net and it has the phone number and email address. This advice is just in case you haven't already become familiar with Needswings.

Not once has it been said that the battery was disconnected prior to three more starts and the engine stopping. He mentioned that the engine started three times but was that only once?
I would suggest getting the car out of that garage before they do something stupid.

Does this have anything to do with a DAS Module?
That's what the repair shop is diagnosing that it needs and that they have to do a nationwide search for because theyre not made anymore.
Thank you

There are answers to this problem and I think the shop you have taken the car to have taken too long in diagnosing the problem, but it is your money they are taking.
You need to get the car away from the idiots that have your car. 300$ they wanted to charge you to get into the trunk? I would’ve never even let these people touch my car. Get YOUR car home at least. Then try out one of the 3 companies that have been mentioned. They might not have even diagnosed the problem correctly. Just throwing that out there.
