When in doubt, read the Owners Manuel--it's all there!

it's a service indicator which lights up (flashes) on the dash upon start up. the symbol is a wrench...it flashes when service is needed or the mileage is over recommended servicing.

RESETTING THE FSS MAINTENANCE
INDICATOR
The FSS maintenance indicator can be reset to the total mileage
or total time in two ways:

Automatically when the odometer is reset to 0 within the
first 155 miles. (The FSS maintenance indicator is reset to the
values set at the factory).
Manually by driver by:
1. Hold the left rotary dial depressed.
2. Simultaneously move the ignition switch to the “RUN” position
3. Continue to hold the rotary dial down for 10 seconds.
After the audible tone 15,000 km (7,500 miles) appears on
the display. The remaining mileage is displayed again.

RESETTING THE FSS MAINTENANCE INDICATOR AFTER AN OIL CHANGE
1. Move the ignition switch to the “RUN” position.
2. Within 4 seconds of moving the ignition switch into the
“RUN” position, press the reset button for the trip odometer
twice within one second. The display for the FSS service
request is activated for 10 seconds
3. During the 10 seconds the FSS service request is displayed,
move the ignition switch to the “OFF” position.
The FSS service request will continue to be displayed.
4. Press the reset button for the trip odometer and
hold.
5. Move the ignition switch to the “RUN” position
6. Continue to press and hold the reset button for the trip
odometer (about 10 seconds) until the audible signal
sounds and the new start distance appears in the display.
The tool symbol should disappear at this time.

Why? ...and more important, HOW... would someone 'reset the odometer to 0 within the first 155 miles'?

Or...are we talking about the trip odo?

I have no idea as I have never reset the odometer, or the trip odometer within 155 miles.

The only reason I could see is to reset the mileage that had been put on by demo'ing the car.

Yo, thanks andrew. Really didn't think of it as an indicator. Thought kind of special component name .. :-)
I'm glad vsilvia wrote it down. My translated instruction would be worse.

Try doing it this way, it works for me...

Position your finger on the button to the left of the speedo, turn the key to on(not start) and and push the button TWICE... bing bing, turn the key off.

Push the button in and HOLD it, turn the key to on again while holding the button in and wait for the beep. The display will reset.

Good luck...
