Default Engine problem - Looking for advice

Guys,
Yesterday I had a problem with my 2005 Crossfire;
While driving the engine died.
After parking the car I could start the engine, but the engine only runs in idle mode, and very irregular.
revving the engine is not possible - it doesn't respond to it.
I've tried to do some fact finding, but at the end decided to have it towed away.......

Today I have tried to find similar threads in this forum, but non of them seem to have the same problem / indications.
Based on info in other posts, it's not the Skreem module?

Just wondering if there are other tips, hints or suggestions......

Thanks,
Tom

I had very similar symptoms with my SRT coupe and a crankshaft sensor healed it up.

Please say you did not tow it to a Chrysler dealer! Where is the car? If you do change the Crankshaft Position Sensor use only a Bosch replacement
. Other brands/parts have been found to cause problems. Use only a Bosch CPS.

😀
the car is at a small local workshop.
the dealer here has no appetite to work on “old” cars......

I will go on Ebay for the Bosch sensors......how many do I need?

You need one Bosch crankshaft position sensor part #0 261 210 170. Hopefully that solves your problem.

I'd say replace the crankshaft sensor as others members said. The SKREEM symptoms are well explained by one of our members Paul, his link is
If not, the only other thing I can think of is a bad Relay Control Module.

.

I hope you eliminated a few things like bad gas, plugged air filters (rodents have been known to nest in strange places), plugged tailpipe, etc?

Update: After some checks we found that the RCM was causing trouble. I expect to receive a replacement RCM (through Ebay) this week.
The old one will be repaired and kept for back up :-)

Thanks for your help and support !!

Tx Tom
