Default Flashing Emergency Lights

I have a 2005 Chrysler Crossfire Convertible. My emergency lights began flashing shortly after I have turned off the engine and locked the car. I then opened the door and the lights went out. Next, I started my vehicle and pushed the emergency light flasher and they went on ok. My car is also locking itself and then the emergency lights begin flashing again. I do not see any light indicator come on the panel to give me some indication of the issue. Anyone have any idea of what may cause the issue? Thanks.

Does the alarm go off when you push the panic button on the fob? It could be bad batteries in the alarm siren itself?

You should also consider the possibility of water in the trunk area, which will mess up the module back there. It has happened often.
If the car has sat out in the rain a lot, you better tear the trim out of the back and start looking for water in the wells under the mat and in the wheel wells, back by the bumper.

If there is water in the harness or modules, this could be a long path back to health for the car. I hope it's something else.

I don't think so. There is only one wire from the module to the siren, and I believe the communication to be one-way. That is, the alarm under the hood can't 'tell' the module in the back ANYTHING.
But I admit I cannot say for sure.

When pizzaguy answers a question like this I find it truly alarming.

The module in the trunk controls the timing functions for various operations of the cars lights and locks. Is there a wire from the trunk module to the warning flasher? The module also relocks the doors if a door has not been opened in a specified time after the open command from the fob.

These cars are too smart for my liking, I do not like cars and phones that are smarter than me.

Same here, strongly suspect water in the cavity (some call the trunk, or lower hatch), that module getting wet has caused a wide variety of issues. Same also for the alarm module, unless we had a schematic for the siren board, hard to tell if it 'communicates' with anything else. Always believed it was a +/- and a trigger in the siren 3 wire connector. Good luck!
