Convertible Top
I have a 2007 Crossfire Roadster. I had the top replaced and now it won't go up or down (I guess it can be done manually). I have taken it to shops in Florida and now CT. Nobody has been able to fix it. Seems the problem is when the top was put back on the computer software was erased. This is what the last mechanic said. The BAS/ESP light on the dashboard is also on. The mechanic called Chrysler and Mercedes only to be told that this software is not available any longer. Is this legal and how do you just stop making a part for a car? Any suggestions would be helpful as I'm at my wits end. The car, with the exception of the top) is all original and only has 16,000 miles on it. If anyone has answers please email me at Pudgie1230@aol.com

This is not funny, but it almost is. I'll email you.

When you unhook it from the windshield do the windows go down? Does it make any sound when pushing the button? Does the light in the button flash? Need more info to evaluate.
I've moved our discussion to the phone - we've talked and she is verifying things like that.
I posted my video for her after we talked about the problems.

HI! I finally got my convertible top to go up and down. I now have a problem with the BAS/ESP light staying on. I was working with a guy name MARK CHRISTOPHER however I can't reach him and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to start a thread or a post. So frustrating. The car is a 2007 and it only has about 16,500 miles on it. As soon as I can figure out how to fix the car, I need to sell it. It's in CT and I'm in SC. HELP PLEASE!
Thanks

Have you tried starting the car and turning the wheel all the way left then all the way right then bring it back to center?
If you have had the battery disconnected or replaced this is a common problem.
Hope this helped.

This reset is trotted out every time that light comes on and frankly I think it is just a habit that most of the time does not work.
We had one member here who posted the possible solution to many problems was a throttle reset, naturally it is not.

Have you tried the throttle reset yet?
