I'm near here and new to these Convertible tops...I am pretty handy but this top has me stumped. First off, I just bought this 05 CF knowing the top was not working. I only hear a click when pushing the button and thought the pump was bad, so I sent it to Top Hydraulics. They rebuilt it top to bottom. Re-installed and to no avail, just a single click back there, no movement. The pump is not running. I'm aware of the procedure to manually move the top but I still want the power top to obviously do it's thing on it's own. I'm looking into the micro switches now and their locations but this thing has me stumped. I don't want to take it somewhere to diagnosis, not just yet.
Any thoughts here guys and I'm sure this has been talked about here a million times....This thing has me frustrated and I'm close to throwing the towel in.
I feel your pain. I just went through a horror show with my convertible top. Was told I had a leaking hydraulic so I purchased the full set from Top Hydraulics and took it to a guy who replaced them and then the top wouldn't work when he was done.
He then said I needed to convertible top control module which I purchased and it still didn't work. Finally, I found someone who could put the car on the computer and rean tests on every electrical circuit in the car. He found the cylinders that were a problem and found one was replaced incorrectly. Top now works, but I having an new issue with a cable that operates two flaps on the tonneau cover. One is binding and the cable part number is A193 750 01 59 005 and of course is no longer available.
My advice is to find someone that can put the car on a computer an run a diagnostic. If it turns out you need a convertible top control module, I've got one for you.
Right now I need to find anyone that has any idea where I might be able to find a replacement cable OR has found a workable solution for this problem? Any help would be much appreciated.

FIFY.

And THAT is why "taking it to somewhere to diagnose" is almost always a bad idea....
Taking it to a Chrysler deals is ALWAYS a bad idea.
If you want to try to fix this yourself, see the links in post #3 Gary gave you. I put the first one together to address owners like yourself. Read thru it carefully, more than once - best to do so sitting in a quiet living room and absorbing how things work. THEN, go out to the car and try some of the things I talk about in there (like, do the windows go down when you turn the crank?)
The system seems very complex, and it is, but many times (not always) figuring out where the problem is, is not always that hard. But you MUST understand how the system works, and that's why I wrote what I did. NEXT, you can go to the second link (but again, be careful, it can be hard to know where to start - that is why I went to all the trouble of writing what you find in the first link.)
Give yourself time, the harder it is to fix this, the better you will feel when you are done.
SOme final thoughts for now:
1) Water damage to the top controller is about the only reason it will go bad - that module seems very reliable; even tho many "experts" jump to the conclusion that the module is the problem - it almost always is not the issue.
2) If your car's powered wing is not acting right, or if you have an ABS light on, you should fix those issues first, as they can prevent top operation in some cases.
3) In the vast majority of cases, the divider switch in the trunk is the problem. THis is by far the leading cause of "Top Paralysis".

The “roof open switch”, I’m pretty sure the tiny little metal clip that pushes the button to open and close the circuit is missing. Am I correct and this may be the reason my hydraulic pump doesn’t fire up when I push the button. Correct?? Thoughts on how to repair or do I just replace the switch or sensor??
This is a closeup of Pizzaguy’s roof open switch and you can see the small metal spring clip in there much like the divider switch has. Same small metal spring clip
Here’s a better pic of what’s missing on mine. Notice the metal clip
Yep, you need to find another switch or bypass it by putting the two wires together. If you bypass it be sure you don't push the top open button unless the top is unlatched. That is what that sensor does. Sometimes you can find a switch on Ebay.
Like you I was in need of this same part. We bought ours at the end of May and I went in with my eyes wideopen as the top, although almost new, would not automatically work. Once this sensor was replaced, then the cylinders all let loose. Top Hydraulics to the rescue. These cars are worth fixing and are a blast to drive.
Researching here I found the part # on this sensor is printed on the back side of it. There are 2 small bolts that hold that sensor to your top frame. The part # you are looking for is: Convertible Top Sensor 1938202110. Do a Google search on that part #. Good luck in your hunt . Check salvage yards as well as Facebook Marketplace for ads on parts cars the owners are parting out.
I got lucky buying mine used from "fleabay" through a fellow Crossfire owner "RONMAN" in Texas. Check also Craigslist. Might have good luck searching there under whole cars as well as parts.
Good luck and all the best in your hunt.
Regards,

Reason: Credit given for help
I just checked my part I replaced and that missing metal tab is intact on my old part. You just may be able to remove that metal tab and install on your existing sensor to make it functional.
here’s pics of my part.
Send me an IM with your address and it’s yours. Let me know.
I have the same problem> Where do YOU recommend starting my analysis.
When I open the "D" handle, my windows do not go down. Also my spoiler only works when I am driving.
