Default Over center switch bypass

I own a 2005 convertible and they finally figured that I need to replace the over center switch part # 05142205AA.
I've tried to locate the switch and I'm not having any luck. Is their a way to bypass this switch. If I latch the top closed, the top becomes unresponsive until
the top is manually retracted and this is not a fun way to get the top to work. Any suggestion would be helpful

Randy

The "over center" switch? Where in the service manual did you (or 'they") find that term?

What switch are we talking about? IF you are saying the top goes UP but not DOWN,then it's either the TOP OPEN switch or the DIVIDER SWITCH.
Kind of sounds like you are talking about the TOP OPEN switch. Bypassing the top open switch is a BAD idea, you can bypass the divider switch, but the top open switch is not one I'd bypass.

Located on the power top rail approximately in the middle (above micro switch), No longer available. Search salvage yard or someone with a parts car willing to sell it.
