Behind Gas Cap Filler Door (Water Drain hole and Drain hose)
Behind Gas Cap Filler Door (Water Drain hole and Drain hose)
I found that the drain hose was up inside the opening where it should extend out several inches behind the rear wheel.
Fortunately it was still draining water to the outside on the ground behind the rear right wheel.
I got a needle nose pliers and carefully puled it back out and placed a tie wrap securely around the hose to prevent it from slipping up inside again.
I have no idea how long it has been like that but just discovered last night when reading a tech page on Facebook that a hose was even there.
The drain hose from the gas cap compartment should lead right down here behind the right rear wheel.
Go check your Crossfire by pouring a small amount of water into the water drain inside the gas filler cap door.
Water should be seen running out onto the ground under the car behind the right rear wheel.
Then be sure the hose is visible with a few inches hanging out as shown in the picture here.
If you don't see this hose or you don't see any water running onto the ground you need to find out where that water is going right away.
If this hose has pulled up far enough inside this opening it is likely spilling rain water into your trunk
It may be draining into the floor of your trunk below the carpet and right around the area where you electronic PSE module is located.
If this is the case you are going to have bigger problems when that PSE module becomes wet and fails !!!
Here are pics that show how it should look and how I placed a tie wrap securely around the drain hose to secure it from moving
Re: Behind Gas Cap Filler Door (Water Drain hole and Drain hose)
Thank you..That was nice and easy...Hasn't rained here for at least 5 months (Southern C.A), but i just got the car and it spent much of it's life in Washington State....I was curious to know if the drain was working properly, so i wouldn't have any surprises later....thanks again...

Thanks Valk, would have never thought of checking.
Can't believe I didn't see the drain hose when I have been under the car.
Glad I checked because we all know that our crossfires run better when the water is outside!
