I own a 2004 Chrysler Crossfire and this weekend I noticed the low Coolant Light flashing and it turns on and off every once and awhile. It doesn't turn on right when I start the car only when Temp guage shows about half or barely above the middle tick. then I also tried to turn on the air and the fan motor is making a weird noise that is consistent with how fast it's spinning. Any help with what the actual problem could be and or how to troubleshoot

 

Have you checked your coolant level in the resavoir?

 

Insanely new at trying to figure things out like that with cars how do I go about that and what's a good indicator. I know where the coolant reservoir is at and how to fill coolant but not check level

 

Use Zerex 50/50 pre-mixed anti freeze and bring the coolant level up to about 3/4 to a 1/2 inch of the black reservoir top when viewed from the side. You can see the liquid level thru the white colored plastic. You can also look down through the fill top and see a whit plastic rib in the rear of the reservoir. The top of the rib should remain visible above the coolant level.

 

The top of that post is the level of the coolant when cold in a perfect world. If the post was to remain visible above the coolant level you would need a dimension like 1” or someone could say they could see the whole post and think that was fine.
