Spoiler not deploying completely?
Hi, here to ask the experts once again!
My spoiler on 2005 Crossfire LTD Convertible is not deploying completely. It starts but doesn't lift completely but does retract - at normal speed(s). Even using the interior control, it doesn't lift however does retract.
It is new issue & have never experienced problem before. I have read the posts on the reverse problem with not retracting but I haven't seen any similar issues with not deploying completely.
Any suggestions and tips for my mechanic you may have, I would be very grateful!
Thanks to all the knowledgeable members on this forum. Without you, I'd be lost!

Tell your "mechanic" to be a MECHANIC - the wing that keeps going up when it shouldn't is an electronic issue. But in YOUR case, you are describing what certainly sounds like a mechanical issue.
Have him look for physical reason(s) the wing can't go up. If he finds none, I'd suspect the "upper" limit switch is closing before the wing gets to full extension.
He can verity limit switch operation with a simple pocket voltmeter, the limit switch closes, and applies a ground to the BCM, when the wing gets to full extension. If that line is going to ground as the wing stops moving, it is because the limit switch is closing before it should. Refer him to the diagrams in the service manual.

Thanks! FYI, there are zero cars like this in my area. When it was new - Chrysler service was useless - it wasn't a car that 99% dealerships even had to sell never mind servicing. On the flip side, Mercedes wasn't better. They look at the Chrysler
decal and say take it to Chrysler.
.I have a great mechanic that takes care of my car but it is the ONLY Crossfire that he works with plus he only sees it April to Oct/Nov until the snow flies.
A lot of the problems I have had have been easier to solve by giving him the experience and/or knowledge that comes from this site. I also want to speed along the learning curve and get stuff done.
It's almost time for me to put the car away for the winter.
The biggest challenge we have is "there is no service manual" that I have been able to put my hands on for this car". I did pull off the site the Service bulletin for Rear Spoiler Service & Parts procedure. He's flying blind with only material that I can provide him so far has come from the Crossfire site, input from members who know the car plus all the great troubleshooting PDF's.
Your information is both helpful and valuable. Thanks, I am grateful.
Hopefully, this will allow him to figure things out quicker

Thanks, I hadn't seen one here. I will search and see if I can find it & print it off. Did contact Chrysler to find out if I could buy a service manual but according
to them, they don't have any.....
Thanks for the additional information. You're awesome. Everyone on the forum is always awesome
