I'm attempting to remove my EGR valve but the EGR tube is stuck in the EGR assembly. I've watched a couple of videos and once the nut is removed, it should slide right out. I can rotate the valve and tube a few degrees but discovered that the collar B is stuck in the fitting C and the rotation is happening between A & B. I put a couple of drops of penetrating oil between B and C but it's not budging.
Any advice, other than just keep wiggling and pulling on it?
Place a bit of wood between the flex tube and any solid part of the car, then tap the EGR value; Or twist the EGR value and hold the tube/ collar. It should come loose.

Bam! I rapped on it gently before but it was the block of wood that made the difference. Seems obvious now.
I replaced the EGR because of the CEL and P0400 code. After a short drive, the CEL is still on. Do you know if it takes more driving to reset (assuming I fixed the problem) or do I need to have a shop reset it?
I would think the P0400 code will clear itself with driving, but who ever gave you the P0400 code should also be able to clear it. You could try an auto parts store. Their scan tool should be able to clear that code.
I replaced the EGR valve assembly that included a new solenoid. I got the code read at Advance Auto who says they're not allowed to do a reset. I'll give a few drives and see how it goes.
