Does anyone know where starter ground strap terminates? It looks like it goes back to the right side relay box. FSM shows nothing.

 

The ground for the starter (and alternator and plugs and injectors and everything else that is grounded to the block) is behind the power steering pump. It attaches to the engine block on one end and to the chassis on the other end.

Many of us see this design as asinine, because it is. There should be a direct, heavy cable from the battery to the engine block.

Thanks very much. I'll clean that ground and install that xtra cable.

 

3 hrs. to remove power steering pump and no ground wires anywhere. There is a stud on left fenderwell with grounds, nothing else.
