CHARCOAL CANISTER SHUTOFF VALVE OHM value
Dear All
I try to finish my car.
It's seems there is 2 EVAP Canister on our car.
First solution :
One will have only evap purge solenoid (near engine) and the canister (under tank / car) have a no purge (event on the part). In this solution, Canister look like this :

Second solution :
other car might have EVAP purge solenoid (same solution 1) + CHARCOAL CANISTER SHUTOFF VALVE. In this solution, canister look like this :

In my case, I have an ECU setting for second solution, and my car was solution 1 (I don't have the original ECU).
From this, I 've P0446 error that I could not resolve as the shutoff valve not exist on my car.
To solve It, I want to put a resistance on C4/37 Ecu plug, but need value of this one.
Does any body have a spare part to measure for me the resistance of this valve ? I would have the Ohm resistance on this plug :

I'm not 100% sure of what I said, but I think I'm right.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards
Nicolas

I think you will find the resistance value given in the service manual. In their silly troubleshooting charts, they often tell you what the valid resistance is of various sensors. It can be hard to find, as you must read thru the procedure until you find it.
Well, I looked, there is no resistance given because it is not a sensor, it is a valve/solenoid. That means it's static resistance is maybe 75-150 ohms but it will have considerable inductive reactance as well.
I doubt the ECU is monitoring it for anything more than seeing a minimum amount of expected current, which would be .05 to .5 amp, I would think.
Try 100 ohms and see if it is happy.

Thanks for your quick answer
I ready manual from page 9-489 to page 9-503.
They look for resistance of the wire, but said nothing for the resistance of the valve.
It's strange you don't have any resistance.
For example, I have 27 ohm inside the evap purge solenoid :

Any solution you test is again ? (please
)
In each case, I think there is no so much risk to put an small resistance between (Relay 5-E) and ECU (37-4) :

Thanks again

DO NOT go too small with the resistance. Current will flow based on the resistance, 28 ohms will be aboutt .5 amp. The modules are probably not expecting a lot of current and I would not go below 25 ohms, I still think 50 ohms is a safe value to start with. That should allow enough current for the ECU to believe the valve is working.
Hello
Perform the test with 85 ohm resistance I found
Add a wire in Pin 37 of the ECU on C4 connector

Add a wire on Pin 5 of RCM on E connector :

Resistance between each ...
Not work. The engine start, rotation of the engine go from 1000 rpm to 1500 to 1000 etc... So not the good solution ...
Any idea ?
